Xi Jinping Replies to Letter from Representatives of Well-known Arab Artists

近日，国家主席习近平复信参加“艺汇丝路”访华采风活动的阿拉伯知名艺术家代表，鼓励艺术家创作更多体现中阿友好的艺术佳作，为增进中阿人民友谊作出新的贡献。

Recently, President Xi Jinping replied to a letter from representatives of well-known Arab artists participating in the "Silk Road: Artists' Rendezvous" visit to China, and encouraged the artists to create more artworks that reflect China-Arab friendship, and make new contributions to enhancing friendship between the Chinese people and the Arab people.

习近平指出，文化能够连接心灵，艺术可以沟通世界。从开辟古代丝绸之路到共建“一带一路”，中阿文明交流跨越千年、相互欣赏，书写了互学互鉴的历史佳话。去年底，首届中国－阿拉伯国家峰会决定全力构建面向新时代的中阿命运共同体。中阿关系发展处在新的历史起点上，我希望更多阿拉伯艺术家来华采风，以大美之艺创作更多促进中阿文化交流的艺术作品，分享在中国的经历和感悟，让更多阿拉伯朋友感受中国、了解中国，同中国人民一道，共同谱写新时代中阿文明交流互鉴新篇章。

Xi Jinping pointed out that culture can connect hearts, and art can interlink the world. From the opening of the ancient Silk Road to Belt and Road cooperation, exchanges between Chinese and Arab civilizations have spanned thousands of years with mutual appreciation, writing a historical legacy of mutual learning. At the first China-Arab States Summit held at the end of last year, China and Arab states agreed to make all-out efforts to build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era. Xi Jinping noted that China-Arab relations are now at a new historical starting point, and expressed his hope that more Arab artists will visit China and create with exquisite skills more artworks that can promote China-Arab cultural exchanges, and share their experiences and insights in China, so that more Arab friends can experience and get to know China, and work with the Chinese people to write a new chapter of exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Arab civilizations in the new era.

近期，50多位参加过“艺汇丝路”访华采风活动的阿拉伯知名艺术家联名致信习近平主席，分享十余年来访华采风的收获和感悟，希望能为促进中阿人民民心相通作出贡献。

Over 50 well-known Arab artists who participated in the "Silk Road: Artists' Rendezvous" visit to China recently sent a joint letter to President Xi Jinping to share their gains and inspirations from their China tours over the past 10-plus years, expressing their hope to make contributions to promoting the mutual understanding between the Chinese and Arab people.

截至目前，已有来自22个阿拉伯国家的百余名艺术家参加了“艺汇丝路”访华采风活动，创作了487幅（件）绘画、雕塑和陶瓷艺术作品。

So far, over 100 artists from 22 Arab countries have participated in the "Silk Road: Artists' Rendezvous" visit to China, and created 487 artworks in the form of painting, sculpture and ceramic art.
